How Warchalking Died. It's downfalls include the fact that it was a grassroots movement by amateurs, the symbols are hard to maintain (it's chalk!) and warchalking is not always endorsed by the owners of the particular network. The introduction of the WiFi Zone by the WiFi Alliance brings us an alternative to warchalking with a standard, official logo for participating networks.
